DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Jackson Yator
Welcome to the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (AES). Established in 2023, AES is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education in agriculture and environmental sciences. Our department offers a variety of Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) courses designed to meet diverse competency needs.
Tailor-made short courses are also available, covering essential aspects such as sustainable agriculture value chain, horticulture, agribusiness, food processing, animal feed formulation, Yoghurt production and environmental sciences.
Practical learning is a key focus at AES. Our students gain valuable hands-on experience at the vibrant college farm. This immersive environment allows them to apply their knowledge in livestock and crop production, as well as agricultural value addition.
In collaboration with international partners, AES has developed unique courses. The Netherlands AERES has contributed to the General Agriculture Practitioner Level 5 and 6 courses. Additionally, Canadian partners Lakeland College and the College of the Rockies have played a significant role in the development of Livestock Feed Formulation level 4.
We are currently in the process of introducing programs in Animal Health and Production level 5 and 6, to meet the evolving needs of the agricultural industry.
Join us at AES to embark on a journey of learning, innovation, and sustainable agricultural practices. Explore the opportunities that our department provides to shape the future of agriculture and environmental science.
